Douglas Lloyd - Founder and CEODouglas is responsible for VB/Research's key client accounts as well as the overall sales and membership functions. He also manages many of the company's bespoke research projects. Mr Lloyd is a regular panellist and speaker in Europe and North America in both the CleanTech/Renewable and Security/Defense sectors with leading organisations including GovSec, IBF, Dow Jones and Euromoney. Douglas is also a regular contributor to publications including the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Economist. Prior to founding VB/Research, Douglas worked in corporate finance and principal investing for 12+ years in London, Paris and New York. He began his career at HSBC Investment Bank and was then recruited to Close Brothers Corporate Finance (London and Paris). Most recently he was Head of European Investment Banking at WR Hambrecht + Co. in New York. At Close Brothers Douglas was the fund manager for the highly successful First Close Technology Fund, which invested in companies including Active Hotels and Bango. Estelle Lloyd - Founder and Managing DirectorEstelle looks after Business Development at VB/Research. This includes constantly improving our systems and the pipeline platform. She also manages several of VB/Research's large accounts. Mrs Lloyd has authored and contributed to publications related to cleantech, renewable energy and finance worldwide including the Financial Times, eFinancial News, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and the CleanTech Magazine. Mrs Lloyd is a frequent panelist and speaker at the leading CleanTech and Renewable Energy conferences held globally including Euromoney's REFF events and the World Energy Sunmmit. Prior to founding VB/Research in 2006, Mrs Lloyd worked in Venture Capital and Investment Banking for 10+ years at BNP Paribas USA, in debt financing, leveraged finance and principal investments and previously in the Leveraged Finance Sponsor group of Credit Agricole Indosuez (now Calyon). Estelle is an MBA graduate from the dual international
MBA programme of Columbia Graduate School of Business
in New York and London Business School. She was
born in France. |

Caroline Ohrn - Senior Research AnalystCaroline manages VB/Research’s databases (PE/VC, M&A and IPO) and associated data-focused research. Ms Ohrn is particularly active within the company’s Clean Technology and Renewable Energy practice and is regularly involved with client specific research projects within the sector.
Prior to joining VB/Research in 2007, Ms Ohrn worked as a media and business analyst, undertaking market research studies, data analysis, company profiles and sector reports across a wide range of industries including the IT and financial services sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from ESG Graduate School of Management based in Paris and a Master of Arts in International Communications and Development from City University in London.
